• Most of his life has been dedicated to the agricultural activities. He has been actively engaged in politics since 2002.
  For many years he was a trade union activist and the President of the Trade Union Organisation in Svrljig and a member of the Supervisory Board at the Republic of Serbia level as a candidate from Svrljig.
  He was elected President of the United Peasant Party (USS) at the Party Assembly which was held on 23 December 2006. In the period from 2005 until the end of 2009 Miletić was acting deputy and then the Mayor of Svrljig. From 2009 to 2012 he served as the Mayor of the Municipality of Svrljig, and in the elections on 6 May 2012, the USS won 50% and an absolute majority in the local parliament. Up to the mid-2014 Milija Miletić served as the Mayor.
