On 16 October 2023, Mr. Aleksandre Jishkariani, Consul General of Georgia in Istanbul, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat in Istanbul and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
Mr. Igor Becic, PABSEC Vice-President, Head of the PABSEC Serbian delegation, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, took part in the International Forum “Sustainable Development of Mountain Territories”, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States, in cooperation with the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg on 12-13 October 2023.
Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated in the 10th Green Energy Investments Forum which was organized by the Energy Policy and Development Center (KEPA) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, under the auspices of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, on 10-11 October 2023, in Athens.
On 10 October 2023, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to Ankara and had meetings at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT).
On 4-5 October 2023, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, took part in the 4th Coordination Meeting of Parliamentary Assemblies and the 2nd Parliamentary Policy Dialogue, which was organized in Vienna by the UNOCT Programme Office on Parliamentary Engagement with the support of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar, and in collaboration with the current Presidency of the Coordination Mechanism – OSCE PA and the Austrian Parliament.
Mr. Daniel DULCA, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, attended the online 10th Edition of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Forum on Green Finance and Investment (GFI), on 2-3 October 2023, which was held as a hybrid event, at the OECD headquarters and virtually, with on-line streaming.
The 61st Meeting of the PABSEC Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee was held in Burgas (Bulgaria) on 2 October 2023 upon the invitation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. The meeting was attended by the national delegations from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine, as well as a representative of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat and members of the PABSEC International Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Musa Guliyev, Chairman of the Committee (Azerbaijan).
On 28-29 September 2023, in Dublin, upon the invitation of the Irish Parliament, the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament was held under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and was attended by more than 60 Speakers or Deputy Speakers of Parliament and around 400 delegates representing partner and observer countries and interparliamentary assemblies.
