Mr. Igor Becic, Head of the PABSEC Serbian Delegation, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, took part in the 28th General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO), which was organized by the Hellenic Parliament in Crete on 23-25 July 2021.
Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General participated to the Coordination Meeting of the BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office, the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials, BSEC Related Bodies and the BSEC PERMIS, that took place online, upon the initiative of the BSEC Georgian Chairmanship-in-Office, on 12 July 2021.
PABSEC Delegation composed of Mr. David Sergeenko, PABSEC Vice-president, Head of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation, Ms. Anna Purtova, PABSEC Vice-president, Head of the PABSEC Ukrainian Delegation, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, took part in the observation mission for parliamentary elections in the Republic of Bulgaria in Sofia on 11 July 2021. The PABSEC Delegation was accompanied by Mrs. Pavlina Lozanova, Secretary of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee.
The PABSEC Delegation, composed of Mr. Lorant-Zoltan Sas, PABSEC Vice-President, Head of the PABSEC Romanian Delegation, Mr. Cemal Ozturk, PABSEC Vice-President, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, Mr. Elshad Mirbashiroglu, member of the PABSEC Azerbaijani Delegation and Mr. Daniel Dulca, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, took part in the observation mission of early parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova, in Chisinau, on 11 July 2021.
On 9 July 2021, Mr. Cemal Ozturk, PABSEC Vice-President, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, and Mr. Elshad Mirbashiroglu, member of the PABSEC Azerbaijani Delegation, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
On 9 July 2021, Mr. David Sergeenko, PABSEC Vice-President, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Head of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated to the 2021 Annual Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, which took place online on 30 June – 6 July 2021.
On 5 July 2021, the Delegation of the Hungarian Parliament, composed of Mr. Akos Lajos Kohari, Head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Hungarian Parliament, and Ms. Krisztina Kello, staff of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Hungarian Parliament, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General. The Delegation was accompanied by Ms. Veronika Lakatos, acting Consul General of Hungary in Istanbul, and Ms. Anna Bihari, diplomat of the Consulate General.
On 5 July 2021, the Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia composed of Ms. Lidija Tasevska, Head of the PABSEC Delegation, Ms. Cvetanka Ivanova, Secretary General of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Ilir Selmani, Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and Ms Bleta Bilali, Secretary of the PABSEC Delegation, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
As a co-leader of the Action Coalition on Feminist Movements and Leadership, the IPU, in collaboration with the French National Assembly and Senate, organized on 2 July 2021 a side event, during the Generation Equality Forum Paris 2021, on the theme Parliaments Act for Equal. Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General participated in this event, representing the PABSEC International Secretariat.
