Visit of the delegation of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council) to the PABSEC International Secretariat, Istanbul, 11 July 2019
On 11 July 2019, the delegation of the Cooperation Council of the Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council), composed of Mr. Gismat Gozalov, Deputy Secretary General, and the Mr. Farrukh Jumayev, Project Director, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
During the meeting, the PABSEC Secretary General briefed the guests on the current and future activities of the Assembly and highlighted the results of the 53rd General Assembly in Baku. The Secretary General stressed that from July 2019 the PABSEC Presidency is vested with the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria and that the next General Assembly will be held in Bulgaria in the second half of November 2019.
The PABSEC Secretary General stressed that the Parliamentary Assembly pays great attention to strengthening international cooperation and noted that the PABSEC had applied for observer status in the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic speaking countries (TURKPA), which is the Observer in the PABSEC since 2012.
The Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council congratulated the PABSEC Secretary General on his re-election and wished him success in his work. He also informed the PABSEC Secretary General about the current activities of the Council and future plans. It was noted that it is important to find a possibility to hold a joint event. The Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council invited the PABSEC Secretary General to the Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Organization, which will be held in Baku in October 2019.
