Special Meeting of the PABSEC Standing Committee dedicated to the 32nd Anniversary of the Establishment of the Assembly, Istanbul, 27 February 2025
The Special Meeting of the PABSEC Standing Committee dedicated to the 32nd Anniversary of the Establishment of the Assembly was held in Istanbul on 27 February 2025.
The Heads of National Delegations from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Greece, Republic of Moldova, North Macedonia, and Türkiye participated in the meeting. The Meeting was also attended by the representatives of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat and the Union of Road Transport Associations of the BSEC region.
The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Fatih Donmez, PABSEC Vice-President, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation.
The members of the Standing Committee exchanged views on the topic “The Power of Partnership: Evaluating Current Cooperation and Envisioning Future Opportunities”. Proposals and recommendations that were put forward during the debate will be used in the future work of the Assembly with the aim to enhance the role of the PABSEC in the Black Sea region and to achieve the goals and objectives enshrined in the statutory documents of the Assembly.
The representatives of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat and the Union of Road Transport Associations of the BSEC Region presented the information on their activities.
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, informed the participants about the current and future work of the PABSEC and noted that the Second International Ayder Forum is planned to be held in 2026. The Standing Committee members endorsed the possibility for the PABSEC to be one of the organizers of this event.
The Standing Committee members agreed with the proposal of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to expand cooperation in the Wider Black Sea Region with the involvement of the countries of the Central Asia, starting with the visit of the PABSEC delegation to the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
