Participation of the PABSEC International Secretariat in the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials for Related Bodies, Observers and Sectoral Dialogue Partners, Istanbul, 22 October 2019
Mr. Daniel Dulca, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated in the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials for Related Bodies, Observers and Sectoral Dialogue Partners, which was held at the BSEC Headquarters in Istanbul, on 22 October 2019.
The meeting was attended by the following BSEC Member States: Republic of Albania, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Bulgaria, Georgia, Hellenic Republic, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Republic of Serbia, Republic of Turkey and Ukraine. Officials of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), of the International Centre for the Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) and representatives of the BSEC Observers, participated in the meeting.
The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Vassilis Katakalidis, First Counselor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representative of the Hellenic Chairmanship-in-Office.
Concerning the activities of the BSEC PERMIS, the participants were informed about the Report of H. E. Ambassador Michael Christides, the Secretary General of the BSEC PERMIS. The PERMIS informed the Committee on the outcomes of the Meeting of the Working Group on Organizational and Legal Matters, which was held at the BSEC Headquarters in Istanbul, on 24-25 September 2019.
The Committee exchanged views on the BSEC-EU interaction in order to strengthen the cooperation in a practical, balanced, mutually - beneficial and project-oriented way.
In accordance with the BSEC Calendar of Events under the Hellenic Chairmanship-in-Office, the next meeting of the Committee will take place on 11-12 December 2019, in Athens and that of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States will be held in Athens, on13 December 2019.
In his intervention, Mr. Daniel Dulca, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General informed the members of the Committee about the current and forthcoming activities of the PABSEC.
