Participation of the PABSEC International Secretariat in the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials, 9 June 2023
On 9 June 2023, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, and Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, took part in the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials, which was organized in the BSEC Headquarters in Istanbul.
The Meeting was attended by representatives of the BSEC Member States, the BSTDB, ICBSS, BSEC observers, and sectoral dialogue partners. The Meeting was chaired by Ambassador Sanja Milinkovic, Representative of the Serbian BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
The Committee took note of the information on the recent and future activities of the BSEC PERMIS, as well as on the information regarding the meetings of the BSEC working groups. The members of the Committee were also informed about the cooperation between the BSEC and the EU and took note of the information on the activities of the BSEC Related Bodies.
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev informed the participants about the Summit of Speakers of the Parliaments of the BSEC Members States and the results of the 61st PABSEC General Assembly held in Ankara on 4-5 May 2023 under the Turkish PABSEC Presidency. He also informed the Committee about the PABSEC Calendar of events and the planned activities for the second half of 2023 under the Ukrainian PABSEC Presidency.
Moreover, Mr. Hajiyev underlined the cooperation between PABSEC and the other BSEC related bodies, especially the close cooperation with the BSEC PERMIS and he thanked Ambassador Comanescu for the efficient and productive interaction between the two bodies.
