PABSEC Participation in the Coordination Meeting of the Azerbaijani BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the Coordination Meeting of the Azerbaijani BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office with the Committee of Senior Officials, the BSEC Related Bodies and the BSEC PERMIS, which was held online on 10 February 2025.
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, informed the participants about the current and forthcoming activities of the PABSEC in the first half of 2025 and wished success to the Azerbaijani BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office.
The Meeting was attended by the representatives of the BSEC Member States, the BSEC Related Bodies, BSEC observers and BSEC Sectoral Dialogue Partners. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Emin Mammadov, the representative of the Azerbaijani BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office, Head of the Regional Cooperation Division at the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Lazar Comanescu, the BSEC PERMIS Secretary General, wished success to the Azerbaijani BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office and expressed support for the implementation of its priorities. The Head of the Regional Cooperation Division at the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Emin Mammadov presented the CiO’s priorities (1 January – 30 June 2025) and emphasized on the importance of the commitment to regional cooperation, economic integration and sustainable development. He informed the participants that the focus of their CiO would be on key areas such as transport, trade facilitation, customs matters, environmental protection and climate action.
During the Meeting, the BSEC Calendar of Events during the Azerbaijani BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office (1 January – 30 June 2025) was also presented and discussed.
