Meetings of the Bureau of the Assembly and the Standing Committee were held on 13 May 2024 in Tirana and were chaired by Ms. Lindita Nikolla, PABSEC President, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania.
The Sixty-Eighth Meeting of the Bureau of the Assembly adopted: the Minutes of the Sixty-Seventh meeting of the Bureau, draft Agenda of the Sixty-Third Meeting of the Standing Committee, draft Agenda of the Sixty-Third Plenary Session, draft Program of the Sixty-Third General Assembly, Matters of Procedure of the Sixty-Third Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly, Progress Report of the Parliamentary Assembly, and the Participation of PABSEC representatives in international gatherings in May-November 2024. The Bureau took note of the information on the execution of the Assembly’s Budget.
The Bureau approved the candidature from Romania for the post of PABSEC Deputy Secretary General in charge of Administrative and Financial Affairs and the candidatures from Greece and Ukraine for the post of PABSEC Deputy Secretary General in charge of Interparliamentary Relations and Protocol; appointed Ms. Renata Meto from Albania as Secretary of the PABSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy, Ms. Milena Ljubinkovic from Serbia as Secretary of the PABSEC Committee on Economic and Development Policy, and Ms. Pavlina Lozanova from Bulgaria as Secretary of the PABSEC Committee for Legal Affairs and International Cooperation starting from 1 June 2024; The Bureau also adopted the Regulation on Status of the Special PABSEC Representative and appointed Mr. Namik Dokle from Albania and Mr. Julian Revalsky as Special PABSEC Representatives for a period of five years. The Bureau decided to hold its next meeting in Armenia in November 2024.
The Sixty-Third Meeting of the PABSEC Standing Committee approved the Minutes of the previous meeting, adopted the draft Agenda of the Sixty-Third Plenary Session of the General Assembly, approved the Progress Report of the Parliamentary Assembly, approved proposals of committees on the issues to be considered in the second half of 2024 and adopted the PABSEC Calendar for 2024.
Members of the Standing Committee took note of the information on the participation of PABSEC representatives in international gatherings during November 2023 - May 2024.
The Standing Committee also took note of the information on the Auditing Report for the 2023 financial year, on the receipt of contributions to the 2024 Budget, and on the draft PABSEC Budget for the 2025 financial year.
The Standing Committee decided to hold its next meeting in Armenia in November 2024.
