Meetings of the Bureau of the Assembly and the Standing Committee, Baku, 19 June 2019
The meetings of the Bureau of the Assembly and the Standing Committee were held in Baku on 19 June 2019 on the first day of the 53rd PABSEC General Assembly.
The Sixtieth Meeting of the Bureau of the Assembly approved the Minutes of the Fifty-Ninth Meeting, draft Agenda of the Fifty-Third meeting of the Standing Committee, draft Agenda of the Fifty-Third Plenary Session, draft Program of the Fifty-Third General Assembly, Matters of Procedure of the Fifty-Third Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly, Progress Report of the Parliamentary Assembly and the participation of the PABSEC representatives in international gatherings in June-November 2019. The Bureau took note of the information on the Execution of the Assembly’s Budget.
The Bureau of the Assembly approved the nominations for the posts of the PABSEC Vice-Presidents and the PABSEC Secretary General for the elections during the Plenary Session.
The members of the Bureau took the decision to appoint Mrs. Natia Gaprindashvili (Georgia) to the post of “Advisor to the Secretary General – Press-Secretary”, starting with 1 July 2019.
At its supplementary meeting on the same day the Bureau of the Assembly approved the proposal of the Secretary General to transfer the Secretary of the PABSEC Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee Ms. Pavlina Lozanova to the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee.
The Fifty-Third Meeting of the PABSEC Standing Committee approved the Minutes of the Fifty-Second meeting, adopted the draft Agenda of the Fifty-Third Plenary Session of the General Assembly, approved the Progress Report of the Parliamentary Assembly, approved the proposals by the committees on the issues to be considered in the second half of 2019 and adopted the PABSEC 2019 Calendar.
The members of the Standing Committee took note of the information on the participation of the PABSEC representatives in international gatherings in the period December 2018 - June 2019. The Standing Committee also took note of the information on the Auditing Report for the 2018 financial year, on the receipt of contributions to the 2019 budget and on the draft 2020 PABSEC Budget. The Standing Committee approved the amendments to the Staff Regulations for the PABSEC International Secretariat, the PABSEC Rules of Procedure and the Financial Regulations.
The Fifty-Third Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly will be held in Baku on 20-21 June 2019.
