Participation of the PABSEC International Secretariat in the Joint Meeting of the BSEC Working Group on Cooperation in Combating Crime, in Particular in its Organized Forms, and the Network of Liaison Officers, 7 December 2020
Mrs. Pavlina Lozanova, Secretary of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee, participated in the Joint Meeting of the BSEC Working Group on Cooperation in Combating Crime, in Particular in its Organized Forms, and the Network of the Liaison Officers was held online, on 7 December 2020.
The Meeting was attended by the representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Hellenic Republic, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, the Russian Federation and Ukraine. It was also attended by the representatives of the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS), as BSEC Related Body, as well as the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Italy, as observers; the Union of Road Transport Associations in the BSEC Region (BSEC-URTA), as a Sectoral Dialogue Partner; the Customs and Tourism Enterprises Co. Inc. (GTI) as a Guest. The Meeting was chaired by Dr. Vilhelmina Lucinescu, Police Commissioner, General Directorate for European Affairs, Schengen and International Relations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on their experiences referring to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, to the increased police measures and to the combat against organized crime in their respective countries. Concerning the Network of the Liaison Officers, the representatives of Romania, the Russian Federation and the Hellenic Republic expressed their full support to the activities of the Network and highlighted the importance of increasing the contacts among the Liaison Officers in order to achieve cooperation through the exchange of more relevant information. In addition, the Member States agreed on the elaboration of a questionnaire, which will be distributed to all BSEC Member States in order to collect all necessary information and data needed to describe the real situation concerning the Trends on Trans-national crime in the BSEC Region.
The representative of Romania as the Country Coordinator presented the Report regarding the implementation of the Plan of Action of the BSEC Working Group on Combating Crime, in Particular in its Organized Forms, for the period 2018-2020.
