Participation of the PABSEC International Secretariat, in the Eighteenth Online Meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group of Experts on BSEC-EU Interaction, 15 April 2021

Mr. Daniel Dulca, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, attended the eighteenth online meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group of Experts on BSEC-EU Interaction, on 15 April 2021.

The Meeting was chaired by Ms. Antonela DHIMOLEA, Head of the Regional Initiative Unit of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania.

Representatives of the BSEC Members States, of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), of the BSEC Business Council (BSEC BC) and of the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) attended the meeting. Also, BSEC Observers and the Sectoral Dialogue Partner took part in the event. The representative of the World Bank attended the meeting as a Guest.

The participants discussed the following items of the agenda: Implementation of the Resolutions, Decisions and Recommendations of the BSEC Council and follow-up of the Declarations and Joint Statements adopted by the Heads of State and Government and the BSEC Council; Participation of BSEC PERMIS in Calls for Proposals (Horizon 2020, EU Grants) and Opportunities for Future Joint Projects; Updating on the Implementation of the (GEF) Global Environment Facility “Blueing the Black Sea” Regional Project (BBSEA), by the World Bank.

The World Bank’s official made an extensive presentation on the recent developments related to the implementation of the GEF “Blueing the Black Sea” Regional Project (BBSEA) and in this respect, the participants expressed their appreciation for the detailed presentation made by the World Bank’s representative and exchanged views on this issue.

The date and venue of the next meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group of Experts on the BSEC-EU Interaction will be communicated in due course.
