The 58th Meeting of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee, 4 October 2021
The 58th Meeting of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee was held online, on 4 October 2021, with the technical support of the PABSEC International Secretariat.
National delegations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Greece, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine, as well as the representative of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia as a guest and the representative of the BSEC PERMIS took part in the Meeting, which was chaired by Mr. Mikhail Emelianov, Chairman of the Committee (Russia).
The Committee approved the draft Report and the draft Recommendation 183/2021 “Fostering digitalization and innovation in order to improve the legislative process and transparency of the parliamentary activity” that will be submitted to the Fifty-Eighth Plenary Session of the General Assembly.
The Committee elected Ms. Roberta Alma Anastase, member of the PABSEC Romanian Delegation, to the post of Chairperson of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee for a term of two years and Ms. Tulay Kaynarca, member of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, to the post of Vice-Chairperson of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee for a term of two years.
The Committee took note of the information on the current activities of the Organization of the BSEC, presented by Ms. Nino Kajaia, Legal Advisor of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat.
The next 59th Meeting of the Committee will take place in Azerbaijan, on 6-7 April 2022. The main issue will be “The Role of Parliaments in Stimulating Foreign Investments in the BSEC Member States”. Ms. Tulay Kaynarca, Vice-Chairperson of the Committee, member of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, was appointed the Rapporteur for the Report.
