Working visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to the Parliament of Georgia, Tbilisi, 26 December 2019.

On December 26, 2019, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, visited the Parliament of Georgia and met with Mr. Archil Talakvadze, PABSEC President, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia. The Secretary General congratulated the President of the Parliament of Georgia on his election to the high post, as well as on the assumption of the PABSEC Presidency by the Parliament of Georgia and wished success in the further endeavours.

The Secretary General informed the PABSEC President about the results of the 54th General Assembly in Sofia on 19-21 November 2019 and about the current activities of the Assembly within the framework of the PABSEC Georgian Presidency. The Secretary General also informed about the preparatory work for the PABSEC meetings in the first half of 2020 and the 55th General Assembly in Georgia in June 2020. The Secretary General expressed gratitude for the significant contribution and active role by the Georgian delegation in the work of the Assembly.

Mr. Archil Talakvadze expressed full support for the activities of the PABSEC and noted that Georgia attaches great importance to cooperation in the BSEC region and expressed readiness for further fruitful cooperation within the framework of the Assembly. The PABSEC President highly appreciated the work of the PABSEC International Secretariat.

Mr. Otar Danelia, Head of the PABSEC Georgian delegation, and Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Vice-Chairman of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee, also participated in this meeting.
