Working visit of the PABSEC Delegation to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau, 14 September 2019
On 14 September 2019, the PABSEC Delegation composed of Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Vice-Chairman of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee, member of the Georgian PABSEC Delegation, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and met with the President of the Parliament, Mrs. Zinaida Greceanii.
During the meeting, the issues of cooperation between the BSEC Member States and the current activities of the Assembly, as well as organizational matters concerning the preparation of the meeting of the PABSEC Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee to be held in Chisinau in October 2019, were discussed. It was also noted that the PABSEC Delegation will participate in monitoring the local elections in the Republic of Moldova on 20 October 2019.
The PABSEC Secretary General informed about the results of the 53rd PABSEC General Assembly held in Baku on 19-21 June 2019 and the activities of the Assembly within the framework of the Bulgarian PABSEC Presidency. He expressed gratitude for the contribution and active role of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and expressed hope that the new PABSEC Moldovan Delegation will bring its constructive contribution to the activities of the Assembly.
The President of the Parliament noted that the Republic of Moldova attaches great importance to strengthening relations within the PABSEC and that cooperation within the BSEC is part of a balanced foreign policy of the country. She expressed readiness for further fruitful cooperation within the Assembly.
