Working visit of the PABSEC Delegation to the Parliament of Georgia, Tbilisi, 28 April 2022
On 28 April 2022, the PABSEC Delegation composed of Mr. Cemal Ozturk, PABSEC Vice-President, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, visited the Parliament of Georgia and met with Mr. Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Parliament.
The PABSEC Delegation congratulated the Chairman of the Parliament on his election to this high post and wished him full success in his future activities. The PABSEC Secretary General informed the Chairman about the present activities of the Assembly, under the PABSEC Russian Presidency and about the organizational and preparatory work for the 59th General Assembly to be held in June 2022. The PABSEC Delegation noted the complex situation in the region, hoping for the speedy achievement of peace.
Mr. Shalva Papuashvili expressed his full support for the activities of the PABSEC and underlined that Georgia attaches great importance to the cooperation in the BSEC region. Mr. Papuashvili expressed the readiness for further fruitful cooperation within the framework of the Assembly. The Chairman highly appreciated the activity of the PABSEC International Secretariat and assured the guests that the PABSEC Georgian Delegation will continue its constructive contribution.
Mr. David Sergeenko, Head of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation, and Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, member of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation, also participated in this meeting.
The PABSEC Delegation also met with members of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation and they discussed organizational issues regarding the holding of the 59th General Assembly, in June 2022, as well as the program of the PABSEC Committees, in the second half of 2022.
