60th Meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial and Financial Affairs Committee on 7 April 2023
The 60th meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, and Financial Affairs Committee was held online on 7 April 2023 with the technical support of the Parliament of Georgia.
The Meeting was attended by the national delegations of Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, the Republic of Moldova, North Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine, as well as a representative of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat and members of the PABSEC International Secretariat. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Sergey Bagratyan, Vice-Chairman of the Committee (Armenia).
The Committee approved the draft Report and Recommendation 191/2023 “The Role of Parliaments in Strengthening Energy Security in the BSEC Member States”, which will be submitted for consideration of the 61st Plenary Session of the General Assembly.
The Committee elected Mr. Alexander Marikovsky, member of the Ukrainian delegation, as Chairman of the Economic, Commercial and Financial Affairs Committee for the term of office of two years.
The Committee took note of the information presented by the Company ARGEPLANO on energy sector optimization.
The Committee took note of the information on the activities of the BSEC Organization presented by Mr. Ashot Kocharyan, Executive Manager of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat.
The next 61st Meeting of the Committee will be held in September 2023, the venue is still not determined. The main issue will be "Strengthening Parliamentary Cooperation in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Assistance in the BSEC Region”. It was decided to determine the name of the Rapporteur after the parliamentary elections in Türkiye and the formation of a new PABSEC Turkish delegation.
