41st Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States, Athens, 13 December 2019

The PABSEC Delegation composed of Mr. Symeon Kedikoglou, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of the PABSEC Hellenic delegation, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, and Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated in the 41st Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States, which took place in Athens, on 13 December 2019.

Mr. Nikos Dendias, BSEC Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, and Ambassador Michael Christides, Secretary General of the BSEC PERMIS, addressed the gathering at the Opening Ceremony.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on different aspects concerning the Organization and the cooperation in the BSEC Region. The Council took note of the Reports of the Meetings of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials, discussed and adopted the draft Resolutions, Decisions and Recommendations, which were submitted by the Committee of Senior Officials.

In his speech, the PABSEC Secretary General informed the participants about the results of the Fifty-Forth PABSEC General Assembly, which was held in Sofia, during 19-21 November 2019 and about the activities of the PABSEC Committees, during the first half of 2020. Mr. Hajiyev also stressed the high level of interaction between the BSEC and the PABSEC secretariats and expressed the readiness of the PABSEC International Secretariat to organize a joint meeting between the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials and the PABSEC Standing Committee.

At the closing session, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic handed over the Chairmanship-in-Office of the BSEC, to the representative of Romania, the term of which starts on 1 January 2020 (1 January - 31 June 2020).
