Participation of Mr. Ali Üstündağ, Administrator of the PABSEC International Secretariat, in the Turkey-Russia Media Forum-2017, 23-24 October 2017, Antalya, Turkey
During 23-24 October 2017, the Global Connection International Media Company, under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Exporters Assembly, organized the Turkey-Russia Media Forum 2017, in Antalya. The meeting was attended by Mr. Mehmet ŞİMŞEK, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Menderes TÜREL, Mayor of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Mr. Mehmet Büyükekşi, the President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Mr. Oleg ROGOZA, the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Antalya, Mr. Sergey MARKOV, Chairman of the Public Council of the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm) and also by various representatives of the Turkish and Russian business world.
At the opening ceremony of the Forum, Mr. Menderes TÜREL welcomed the participants and underlined the necessity to have good relations among the neighbouring countries of the region, for the peace, the welfare and the economic-social stability of the people in general. The representatives of the leading media and travel agencies discussed the ways and practices for enhancing the mobility level of the people for developing the tourism between the two countries.
Mr. Mehmet Büyükekşi, the President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly informed the participants about the export levels between Turkey and Russia and pointed out that the current figures do not reflect the potential trade capacity of both countries and underlined to reach a higher trade volume in the shortest time.
At the closing ceremony of the Forum, Mr. Mehmet Şimşek, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, underlined that Turkey is looking for stronger and closer relations with Russia. Presenting the current and the future economic perspectives of his country, Mr. Şimşek reminded of the common will of the leaders of Turkey and Russia to reach the 100 Billion US dollars targeted for the trade volume. The Deputy Prime Minister, pointed out the importance of the business and media companies for the achievement of the economic objectives of both countries.
