The Forty- Eighth Meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee, Tbilisi, 11- 12 April 2017
The Forty-Eighth Meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee was held in Tbilisi, on 11-12 April 2017, upon the invitation of the Parliament of Georgia.
The Meeting was chaired by Mrs. Sofia Voultepsi, Vice-Chair of the PABSEC Economic, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee and Member of the PABSEC Hellenic Delegation.
The Meeting was addressed by Mr. Otari Danelia, Head of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation and Chairman of the Agrarian Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Mrs. Mariam Valishvili, Deputy Minister of Energy of Georgia, Mr. David Saganelidze, Chairman of the Georgian Partnership Fund and PABSEC Special Representative to the Silk Road Projects and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
The national delegations from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine participated in the Meeting.
Mr. Kakhaber KUTCHAVA, Chairman of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, also attended this important gathering.
Mr. Aftamun Amashov, Member of the PABSEC Azerbaijani Delegation, presented the draft Report on “Development of New and Renewable Sources of Energy in the BSEC Member States”.
The Committee approved the draft Report and the draft Recommendation 155/2017 on “Development of New and Renewable Sources of Energy in the BSEC Member States” that will be submitted to the consideration of the Forty-Ninth Plenary Session of the Assembly, to be held in Istanbul, on 4-6 July 2017.
The Forty-Ninth Meeting of the Committee will take place in September 2017 and the main item on the Agenda will be “Development of the National Innovation System in the BSEC Member States”.
