The Visit of Mrs. Maja Gojkovic, the PABSEC President and the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, and Mr.Igor Becic, the PABSEC Vice-President, to the PABSEC International Secretariat, Istanbul, 31 October 2016
Mrs. Maja Gojkovic, the PABSEC President and the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and Mr.Igor Becic, the PABSEC Vice-President and the Head of the PABSEC Serbian Delegation paid a working visit to the PABSEC International Secretariat in Istanbul on 31 October 2016.
On this occasion, Mr.Asaf Hajiyev, the PABSEC Secretary General expressed his gratitude to Mrs.Gojkovic for her visit and to the PABSEC Serbian Delegation for its contribution to the attainment of the goals of the Assembly and support to the PABSEC activities.
During the meeting, the disscusions were focussed on the issues regarding the organization of the PABSEC Fourty-Eighth General Assembly, to be held in Belgrade, on 29 November - 1 December 2016.
In the framework of this visit, the PABSEC Secretary General informed Mrs. Gojkovic about the current PABSEC activities and the work of the Committees of the Assembly. Mr. Hajiyev informed about the process of signing of the Declaration on “Strenghtening the Status of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation” and he underlined the important work carried out by the PABSEC President during the Serbian Presidency.
The PABSEC President expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and stressed the importance of the above mentioned Declaration, underlining the role played by the PABSEC in the Black Sea Region. Mrs. Gojkovic expressed her belief in further cooperation between the PABSEC and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia (NARS), stating that NARS will continue to support the PABSEC activities.
Mr. Zoran Markovic, the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia, Mrs. Sandra Vujinovic, the Consul of the Republic of Serbia, Mrs. Milena Ljubinkovic and Mr. Uros Balov, Advisors to the Speaker also participated in the meeting.
