PABSEC and PAM sign Memorandum of Understanding, Malta, 09 November 2015
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance cooperation between the two parliamentary bodies.
The Memorandum was signed by the PABSEC Secretary General, Prof. Dr. Asaf Hajiyev and the PAM Secretary General, Ambassador Sergio Piazzi in Malta, on Monday 9 November 2015 at the premises of the PAM Secretariat.
The two Assemblies have long established relations and the Memorandum of Understanding will further strengthen the cooperation at regional level between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, and also at the international level, where issues of common interest require closer cooperation to promote shared values and projects for the development of the populations.
The Agreement comes to reaffirm the strategic importance of both regions, Black Sea and Mediterranean, and the need for peace, stability, security and prosperity for their people.
Among other issues, the Memorandum ensures exchange of information and consultation and implementation of joint activities on several topics.
